Welcome to the very first edition of the brand new ‘’The Drum Pusher Spotlight’’ on www.drumandbassproper.com.
Firstly a small introduction to The Drum Pusher. We are first and foremost a Promo Page that offers Premieres to labels and artists, check out our Soundcloud and YouTube pages. We have been doing this for a few years now and have built up a decent list of labels and artists which send us their music. (Send Promo to thedrumpusher@gmail.com)
We also have Drum Pusher Recordings which is our very own label, which generally caters for the modern Techstep sound, with some dark, minimal and deep liquid thrown in. Then we have our sister label Audio Entropy which offers a range of different sounds.
That’s enough about us, this new monthly article isn't about us, it’s about the labels, artists and brands that are pushing their sound in the DnB scene.
So the first Drum Pusher Spotlight lands on Phase Records DNB. Founded and run by Gabs aka Gifta, based out of London but supporting artists from all over the planet. They've recently recruited Dapreme and Xyde as A&R managers to cope with the growing workload of becoming an up and coming label.
The label first landed in September 2022 with their debut: Perspectives, a VA with music from Dunk, Inertia NZ, REIDY, Artillery, Kalane, Premonition, Seven and Gifta. Then going from strength to strength with some of our favourite artists landing on board over the next 2 years including Dopplershift, Leks, Xyde, Vispera, Dapreme and more.
Now with a solid catalog of releases behind them now Phase Records DNB continue to push their international and diverse sound, which could be described as a mix of Deep, Minimal, Tech and Neuro, as we enter 2025. Which brings us to January 2025 and Mitosis Vol.1, a monster compilation of remixes of some of their best tracks from the last 2 years. Remixers include Teej, Trex Sweetpea, Dub Elements, T>I and the mighty Waeys, who also headlined the label's very own stage and Hospitality ON The Beach 2024!
