The weather is heating up and so are the tunes as we steamroll into spring with my top picks for April drum and bass releases. There’s a massive amount of music on the market and sometimes it’s intimidating to sift through so here’s the five tracks I suggest to really make you move!
DT3 “Galaxy Unknown” [onesevenfour]
Heartfelt dance floor drum and bass DT3’s “Galaxy Unknown” is a steamy stomper to lift the mood in the room with its colorful composition and dance inducing groove. Funky and fun “Galaxy Unknown” offers a warm dash of pizzazz for the mix you won’t want to miss it!
XYLM is storming into DNB with cutthroat style and aggressive artillery. “Listen” instantly escalates the intensity in the mix with the upmost savagery annihilating with breakneck rhythms and an inherent moodiness that can’t be beat.
Audio “Burnt Bridges” [Blackout Music NL]
Let’s be honest ‘Where The Chaos Lies’ is an absolute genius release from Audio and the entire album slaps but “Burnt Bridges” is hands down an instant classic. Audio is a master in the composition of DNB and “Burnt Bridges” pulls the essence of this music from every corner of the scene into a mechanical monster that motivates the mix and keeps the energy seething.
Mob Tactics “Tonka” [Eatbrain]
“Tonka”, the long awaited DUB from Mob Tactics, finally hit this month as part of ‘Divergence Part 2’ on Eatbrain and this one is plowing in without restrain like a dump truck FULL of BASS! "Tonka" has a powerful driving energy that can’t be matched, anything from Mob Tactics always hits the top of the stack!
Noisia & The Upbeats “Dead Limit (Teddy Killerz Remix)” [Vision Recordings]
All the integrity of the original with a supercharged Teddy Killerz twist this “Dead Limit” remix is immensely thick. An electrifying boost gives this one extra oomph and the Teddy Killerz have stylized the remix so their militant sound shines through. A progressive revamp on that classic sound you know “Dead Limit” always pulls the crowd!
