Junglism in July--Releases to Look Out For #jungle #music #junglist #junglistsoldier #drumandbass #dnb #drumnbass #musicreviews #tallygtuesdays #drumandbassproper
There's a lot of great music out there, especially out there in the jungle. These are some fantastic releases to check out!
July 19th saw the release of a four-track jungle EP comprised of an all-female identifying producer lineup. Out on Jungle Vibration Records, the four artists included are Bombah, Chaos Kitten, Jen Symmetry, and ViJu. This album is still available in a gorgeous purple vinyl, but they won’t last long as all the tracks included will definitely get bodies moving! You can pick up the digital download or the vinyl record on their Bandcamp.
Another noteworthy jungle release is forthcoming on Omni Music (UK) on August 11 and is a 10-track LP comprised of remixes of producer Eschaton's work. The included remixers include Data B, Greekboy, Marc OFX, and NonRev and every track on this release is interesting and well-produced. This gorgeous atmospheric jungle release is currently available for pre-order on Beatport and will be available on all other platforms on the 11th.
UK jungle label Danger Chamber Digital has an epic EP out on August 2nd by the one and only Future. “Dark Ages Remixes—The Chamber of Light Chronicles” is an album where Future has remixed all of the tracks from his 2013 Danger Chamber Digital release Dark Ages LP. If you love 1990s techstep and jungle, this is the release for you! Grab it on the
DCD Bandcamp.
USDNB’s Patrol the Skies Music is back at it again with another banger! This one is a single from Johnny Grems entitled “Gojira” and was released on the 11th of July. It’s a very dramatic track with a strong emphasis on jungle-style drums and horns but with the energy of jump-up or neuro. It’s adventurous and is already a classic, in my opinion. Pick it up and/or listen on the PTSM Bandcamp.
The latest from San Diego-based Shoot Recordings is out on all available platforms on August 2nd, but is currently available for pre-order on Beatport. This pair of funky tracks is sure to get everyone moving! The two-track EP features “Dirty City”, a new original track by Stunna, The Colonel, and label-owner Calculon. The second track is a bangin’ remix of the trio’s earlier release, “Bust”, by NYC’s Dave Owen. Be sure to pick these up and rinse them properly!
I hope these releases move you as much as they moved me, either within or on the dancefloor. Big up and thanks for reading!
Large up,
Tally G
